Commercial Sales Manager - Mumbai

JOB TITLE: COMMERCIAL SALES MANAGER – MAHARASHTRA REPORTS TO: GM – COMMERCIAL SALES
1. JOB PURPOSE
• Overall responsible for commercial sales of solar thermal and PV products/systems to corporate clients, architects & builders, educational institutes, hotels, hospitals, hostels and other institutions in the state of Maharashtra
• To work closely GM-Commercial Sales for development of large sized mega projects with project investors and liaisoning with govt. departments.
• To consistently reach monthly sales / collection targets, and properly represent the company in all aspects

DIMENSIONS
• 2008 – to be trained / start to build contact base and identify prospects
• 2009 – 4 crore revenue
• 2010 – 8 crore revenue


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To research, identify, and demarcate high potential segments for commercial sales, including:
o Corporations – solar water heating system, solar security lighting, solar power packs, etc.
o Architects and Builders – Solar water heaters, Solar laminates, solar power packs, etc.
o Hotels, Resorts, and Institutes – Solar water heaters, solar yard lighting, solar power packs and back up power solutions
o Rural Banks / shopping malls – Solar powered back up systems
• Approach the above clients in Mumbai, Pune and other major cities in Maharashtra under guidelines from the GM-commercial
• Effectively present the company and the solutions to customers, and generate prospects
• Develop techno-commercial proposals (with support from HQ) that generate customer interest
• Manage key accounts through to closure of sales
• Ensure prompt payment, and no receivables > 30 days
• Provide weekly and monthly sales reporting / forecasting
• Reach out to customers through conferences, presentations, and exhibitions
• Provide local oversight on quality of installation and after-sales service – raise issues to HQ
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 5 -8 years of institutional sales experience, such as large corporations, institutions, etc
• Electrical / Electronics engineering degree; and MBA preferred
• Results-oriented with clarity on customer relationship management
• Experience in managing large key accounts.
• Experience in concept selling
• Experience in hands-on selling of products of high unit value
• Strong, clear communication skills
• A self-starter, able to take initiative and work remotely from line management
• Can present himself / herself well and properly represent the company
• Strong record of exceeding sales targets
• Sound commercial knowledge and experience
